Former skipper of the Pakistan cricket Shahid Afridi has tested positive for the coronavirus.
In a tweet, Afridi said that he had been "feeling unwell since Thursday and his body had been hurting severely". He included that he got tested for Covid-19 which returned positive.
He requested prayers for a "speedy recovery.
Cricketer Mohammad Hafeez, while responding to the news, said that Afridi was a "warrior naturally. I am certain you will battle the infection and will overcome it soon."Kamran Akmal additionally joined in appealing to God for Afridi. "Supplications are for your long, sound life. Recover soon," he tweeted.Journalist Fifi Haroon additionally prayed God for the cricketer's well being. She included that Afridi "has helped out this nation and for those afflicted by corona in the last few weeks than many have ventured to do in a whole lifetime. Afridi has been doing social work during the Covid-19 pandemic via Shahid Afridi foundation. He is the third Pakistani all-rounder to positive for coronavirus after taufeeq umer and zafar sarfraz. Afridi is also actively involved in his charity work as the head of a foundation named after him. Following the coronavirus outbreak, he was seen outdoors on many occasions, mainly for his charity work.
